The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan establishes a comprehensive roadmap for the sustainable development of the city over the next 20 years. This plan focuses on enhancing the quality of life for citizens, residents, and visitors, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global destination. Key objectives include:

  • Doubling of green and recreational areas: Creating more parks, gardens, and natural spaces.
  • Developing vibrant and healthy communities: With world-class facilities and attractive public spaces.
  • Providing sustainable and flexible mobility means: Encouraging public transportation, bicycle lanes, and pedestrian zones.
  • Fostering greater economic activity: Attracting foreign investment and developing new sectors.

World-Class Infrastructure: Driving Growth and Connectivity

Dubai has heavily invested in state-of-the-art infrastructure, including:

  • Advanced Transportation Network: Featuring an extensive metro system, modern highways, and a top-tier international airport.
  • Rainwater Drainage Projects: Such as the “Tasreef” project, the region’s most advanced and efficient unified rainwater drainage system, with an investment of AED 30 billion.
  • Strategic Sewage Tunnels: The Dubai Strategic Sewage Tunnels project, with an investment of AED 80 billion.
  • Renewable Energy: The Warsan Waste-to-Energy plant generates 220 megawatts of renewable energy per hour.
  • Airport Expansion Projects: The new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport is set to become the world’s largest airport.
